The problem that I am trying to solve is the problem of quick random note taking. This can be a problem during class, in the car, or when taking down someones phone number. Generally the cause of the problem is that the materials are not available or are not on hand at the time a note needs to be taken. My solution can solve this problem because it is easy to use and is a strong reliable device.

Knowing that this was a problem I experienced, I wanted to make sure that I wasnt the only one who felt this was a problem. I surveyed 50 people and I also interviewed a few experts, to get their opinions and experiences with this problem. The data that I collected from the survey helped to prove that I wasnt the only person who thought that this was a problem. I also interviewed a few experts at Office Max and Office Depot. All of the experts agreed that this would be a good idea, although they did not currently carry this product. I think that this is a good idea if it can be cheap and reliable, Jeff Bowers, manager of Office Depot. Both stores said that they would sell a product like this if it were in the market. This product will sellout easily, Jeff and Mark, Office Depot.

The two interviews were conducted at one of the stores and over the phone. Both interviewees were asked a set of three questions and the results concluded the same as the survey of the fifty people. The first question concluded that there is not currently a device like this pen with post-it notes. The second question concluded that the idea was a good idea. The third question concluded that if their were a device like this available that they would sell it.

The data and evidence that I have collected can show that this invention is a good solution to the problem. To prove this I have 5 graphs that show the data collected from an 8 question survey that was given to 50 random people. From the survey I can conclude that my solution is not only original and many people would use it. 56% of those surveyed wrote down 1- 3 notes per day, from this I can conclude that my product would be very useful. I can also conclude that 32 out of 50 surveyed preferred to use Post-It Notes. I can conclude from my survey results that many people are frustrated when they want to write down a phone number and they have to get out a pen and paper. The fact that my solution is easier to use will be appealing to the consumer. I was also able to gain design ideas from the results of my survey, the majority of people prefer a pen over a pencil for note taking.

My solution to the problem of quick random note taking. I have received data and evidence that can conclude that my solution would solve the problem with ease of use as well as reliable. This solution can be used anytime anywhere which takes car of the problem of not having the materials on hand. This strong cheap and reliable device can be used at a moments notice which is what everyone needs for quick random note taking.
